Great organization, I first got involved with ASSE almost 10 years ago when I hosted a group of students at the Missouri State Capitol. If you want to have an experience of a lifetime this group will help you find a perfect student to share your home and heart.

This orginization is a sham. Dont get me wrong.. if you fall for their BS.. you will have a student delievered ... but.. that is the END point as to where the rules of the agreement are followed. The ASSE in general will not accompany you to the Airport to ease in the student family transitition. Ours had OTHER family obligations.... but other ASSE families that were at the Airport with us to pick up THEIR kids.. also had NO Managers there. Please note that EVERY OTHER organization had managers there.. to assist. We found that when rules of the program are broken.. managers state they have NO power to enforce.. up to and including returning the students back to their homes or orgin. We had to have our student removed after only 7 weeks. for behavioral/sexual/hygiene issues. The student was then placed in a veteran home.. where she lasted 7 weeks.. and the family called us asking if we had a similar experience. The student was STILL left in the USA.. and went to a third family..where she continued her behaviors. DO NOT expect to use ASSE.. and have any assistance in dealing with TROUBLED KIDS.. assistance is NON EXISTENT!. And the rules are a ruse!..AVOID AVOID AVOID

I’ve hosted students from Ukraine, Czech Republic and France. Each experience has been different all have been rewarding. There is no better way to introduce your family to different cultures without leaving the US.
