After being a productive member of society for 2 decades and turning my life around completely i applied for a home equity loan with this bank.
I have excellent credit and plenty of equity in my home to apply. They fully approved me for the loan, but what they also did was went on MD case search and looked at my record from 2003.
They then used that against me to deny me of the home equity loan.
I think this is discrimination and a violation of my rights.
They dug up something from 2003 that has been completely resolved. I have multiple homes and have high credit limits with this bank and multiple other banks, but never in my life have experience this type of discrimination from a bank.

10 years ago this was a great Credit Union. 10 years later, they are basically Wells Fargo adding ATM fees now and very low interest rate. And they just got Tap to Pay (last bank to get it) they have a High Yield Savings acxount, but that requires minimums.
I'm closing my APGFCU account. I recommened SECU or Members First if you want a real Credit Union.
Staff here has always been friendly and helpful tho

A had a car payment that was due on May 5, and I was unable to pay it until May 16. I made the payment online, so their system should have accepted it on that date. On or about May 13, I received a letter notifying me that my payment was 30 days late. I'm still trying to process how they came up with the 30 days delinquent number!!! If I made a payment on May 16 that was due on May 5, that is more like 11 days late. If we use the date on their letter, the payment would have been closer to 8 days late. I was a little annoyed by the action taken by APGFCU in this instance, especially the language in the letter. In fact, it made me angry.
THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO BETTER!!!!!

At first, thought it would be a great experience over usual area banks. Then, I'm told on a phone call that "I reside too far away from Mountain Christian Church for a credit card with a $10,000 limit." This information was never revealed during the entire application process, and I was even congratulated at the end of my hour long initial phone call for being instantly approved! Anyway, I had to put this out there so others wouldn't waste their time, we're talking about hours wasted for a measly credit card application. It's also shameful that they use a place of worship to keep you providing them with your personal information, all the while lying that you're "instantly approved," and they never mention at all that if you live in a 🏠 35 miles or more from where you worship, you're denied. I had to call them, and wait-on-hold for a half hour to find that out. APGFCU is the definition of DISGRACEFUL. That is all.

I had an amazing experience working with McKenna during the car loan process. Although APG themselves can be extremely difficult dealing with, she was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience stress-free. McKenna took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood each step along the way. Her friendly and professional approach truly made a difference.

Thanks to McKenna’s dedication and expertise, I was able to secure the car loan. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of financial services. She’s truly an asset to the APGFCU team because without her, I would’ve had to be Jesus himself dealing with APG.

To say the website / app needs work would be an understatement.

First off, just getting the app and the website to not crash while making an account almost took an act of God. Then, I tried to transfer money from my primary (external) bank account for a car loan I have through APG, but, cant do that. So, you have to transfer the money to a regular shares account, then to your loan. But, I kept receiving error message after error message from APG saying that the transfer couldn't be completed due to an online technical error. 3 days later, I get an alert from my bank that 2 of the attempted transfers had, in fact, went through, despite the error messages . For whatever reason, it won't allow me to transfer the excess money from my regular shares back to my external banking account because I supposedly exceeded the allotted amount of transfers. (So the limits 2 I guess?)

Not the first time dealing with credit unions, but this has been the most irritating experience by far. Banking apps are not a new thing and need to be considerably more reliable than whatever this credit union is using.
Hopefully when rates drop I can refinance the vehicle elsewhere so I can get away from this credit union asap. Hopefully I can get this resolved in person, but reading other reviews, I have strong doubts.
