I worked for this company successfully for 3 years and for the first 2 years things were pretty good despite some minor things that take place at just about every property. I enjoyed the scope of work and the property itself as well as my coworkers. That being said the entire time worked at a property owned by Richmark Property Management was filled with drama from the management and corporate team that oversaw our property. Most times the drama didn’t directly effect me so it wasn’t something I really cared about too much so I decided to look past it and work through it.
After 3 years of working at 5151, the last month and a half with Richmark was spent battling the corporate office over my rights as an American citizen, by filing formal complaints on my regional over them trying to make me re-request my religious observation days off with the threat of being fired from my manager. This took place directly after telling my regional manager i wasn’t going to go to work on my sabbath day.
I stood my ground providing emails informing them of the federal law Im protected by that they were violating. I still received harassing messages from the regional on 2 more Sabbath days to come out to the property despite prior conversations with them and HR.
The manager quit and they foundout he was stealing money from the company. The last convo with HR seemed to go well as they gave me my religious observation day off but I was let go about a month and a half after these events.
I was told I was let go due to a change in the properties direction and was re-hirable via my regional but when i applied for unemployment I then learned that the company told the state i was “fired for spreading rumors and creating a toxic work environment” which is completely dishonest, slander and this actually borders unemployment fraud by law. Thankfully the state deals with sort of behavior from employers quite frequently and it was easily resolved by their investigation and the evidence i supplied.(Document everything)
If you can deal with this sort of stuff and a new company with stuff to sort out than by all means its an easy place to get by and the property itself has some really good people living there. Just remember to document absolutely everything and keep a paper trail for your own safety.
To note I don’t see this behavior happening much longer as the owners are good people who do actually care about their employees and they show that boldly. The change won’t happen over night as these things do take time to weed out as not everybody wants to shine a light on these practices as its easier to just go with the flow and keep your head to the plow but there is absolutely hope.

I would give this company more stars probably around 4 but due to the nature of unprofessionalism , the violation of my rights being illegal on a federal level, and the dishonest attempt to stop my receiving of state assistance via unemployment, I in my right mind just can’t give more stars even though i believe the Owners truly do deserve so as they are all awesome people morally and all around .To the point that i actually refuse to believe that they knew anything about what was going on at 5151 in general, in my situation or the direct violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as I requested an exit conversation with one of the owners and at this point i doubt the message was even relayed.

Pros
Owners are good people, i loved my coworkers, residents and the property itself were great, good location and the benefits aren’t bad at all.
