Progressive is a HORRIBLE company full of nothing but lying money hungry thieves. My car's engine blew up and the engine bay caught fire. I acted swiftly and was able to put the fire out with my fire extinguisher. They admitted if I had let the engine burn down that insurance would have covered it all. But because I put it out and a mechanic was only able to narrow down the cause down to three possible reasons, they said it was mechanical. Even though that isn't what the mechanic said, they said it was one of three causes and they listed them. Regardless, not only did insurance NOT help me at all, they still charged me in between all that time of waiting for the next payment. How are you going to charge a customer the next billing cycle knowing that their car's engine is blown up. American companies don't give a crap about customers, they only care about making money. They screwed me over and then charged me again for it! If your car catches fire, let it burn so progressive doesn't screw you like they did me. Progressive should be ashamed of themselves not even bothering to help a handicapped person. I will NEVER recommend Progressive to anyone and I will always share this story with people who have them, you're a horrible company with no moral compass at the forefront.

If only zero stars was an option. In June 2023 I was rear ended at a dead stop by one of their insured. After being hit they decided to flee the scene with reckless regard running a red light to get away. They had 100% fault and caused 22k in damage to my vehicle. They are valuing my vehicle well above anywhere else and claim to have repaired the vehicle to pre accident conditions. The work from their shop was terrible the customer service was terrible and my car continues to have random electrical issues despite their inability to replicate and my pictures. Since they cleared the code history the dealer cannot see any codes stating they have been cleared. They are looking out for them and have treated me like a common criminal for expecting that the work would be completed to a standard of where it was prior to being slammed by their insured. They refuse to accept that they have depreciated the value of my vehicle and left me stuck and repeatedly feeling victimized by their disregard and horrible customer service. Specifically worked with Brenda and she has explained how my value is depreciated due to all sort of reasons except to include a door ding I had repaired last year she called a collision to the grand total of 700$ vs the 22k that her insured caused. Choose someone else to insure you if you want to trust that you will be cared about. I just keep hearing how much they have already spent to repair it. Perhaps you should take legal action against your driver to recoup the funds via the court paperwork that was provided instead of beating up on the victim.

I pay for full coverage insurance and was hit by an uninsured motorist and it’s been over month and still don’t have my car back.
Now they’re telling me over $1400 of the damages will be out of my own pocket? What do I pay $200 a month for?
Once my claim is resolved I will be taking my business elsewhere.

We’ve had progressive for some time now. We haven’t had really any issues until now. Last big winter storm we had, my wife ended up sliding into a curb and messing up her front end. CV axles, wheel, tires etc. nothing too crazy. According to Colorado law, if you get in an accident and your vehicle is moveable and blocking traffic, you’re required to move your vehicle out of traffic. My wife tried and ended up shredding her tires to where the metal was showing. The accident happened Feb 9. The cars repairs were finally completed April 9. Progressive ordered USED parts for the car and the shop refused to put some of the parts on because they were so badly damaged. Our original adjuster was fired or quit, not entirely sure what happened. We were never notified or ever updated about our claim. We kept calling and leaving messages to have someone call us. Our field adjuster Callie, took over 3 weeks to call me back. I told Her I didn’t see the passenger tire on the estimate and she said she will take a look. She did add the passenger tire to the repair which should have been done already if she had any idea on how to actually inspect a vehicle. Yes, I can say this because I have been a mechanic for a long time and I often do vehicle inspections for customers. As stated before the vehicle was completed on April 9, however the shop stated they couldn’t get ahold of the field adjuster (big surprise) for the final approval. The shop also stated on top of our deductible we owed 467$ for betterment on the tires. They said they are only cover 33% of the cost of the tire because that’s how much tread was left on the tires. First off, NO ONE at progressive contacted us saying there would be any sort of betterments, because if they did contact us, I would have told them no as I can get Firestone all seasons in her tire size for $128 a tire. Mind you 467$ was with 33% off and for two tires. Had they contacted me I would have told them, I will have 4 tires sent over or I would have brought them over and would have spent 512$ on 4 tires! I told them I will not be paying any betterments as I was not contacted about them and I didn’t authorize any betterments. The adjuster told me he can’t take the betterments off as I replied that is not my problem put the old tires back on. We are required to have insurance and pay these ridiculous insurances rates by law but god forbid when progressive has to do their job, it’s done completely illegally and they do an absolute terrible job at it.

If I could give then 0 stars I would. All of the customer complains are correct this insurance company is horrible. You are on hold for hours. When you do get some they don't know the answer to your question then you get transferred several times. They had a previous balance from. 2020 that I knew nothing about never received a call or a statement stating I owed this. Trying to cancel my policy has been a nightmare. They haven't refunded my account. I tried using their chat to get help and Flo states she doesn't understand my request and I have tried calling the help line. I call and it states I will wait 6-10 mins and I never get a repetitive. I went back to Gieco insurance and they gave me a better rate while helping me with home owners Insurance. They were very attentive.

I was a progressive customer since 2012. I had several claims when I lived in WA and they were all handled in a timely manner and the agents were always helpful and communicative. I was in an accident on 2/28 and it wasn’t until 3/14 I was able to get the adjuster on the phone after leaving 2 voicemails, 1 text, 2 messages through the message option on the app, and 1 more voicemail to their supervisor. And that was only after I called the main line and said I didn’t know what my claim number was and they transferred me. It shouldn’t take 2 weeks and 6 attempts to talk to someone. I canceled my policies today and don’t recommend using their services.

This company will leave you high and dry even after the claim is filed. They will send a check but make sure it is the longest wait you will have and will make you life harder if thats your only car. They will search for reasons just to over charge you they will eve go as far as to add you twice to your own policy just to try to get money out of you. They are criminals running.

I have been a customer for some time now and paid all my bills on time and not filed any claims with progressive since I started. Today I sold my car and wanted to keep my policy open and they wanted to charged me more. Sorry this is not how things work. I am an insurance adjuster. I know how they work, I will just cancel my policy and let you deal with it from whoever's vehicle I borrow to drive (NOV) let's just hope if I get in a crash it is progressive the vehicle owner has. I was trying to be responsible. Cooperate greed
