When we retired in 2008 during the real estate crash we were petrified that we would not make ends meet with our modest portfolio. During the following years with our previous advisor we were a ship without a rudder going where the wind blew us without direction and no advice at all. My wife and I were introduced to Layman Lewis Financial Group about 5 years ago when we were in our mid-50s. House almost paid for. Kids finishing up college. IRAs seeming to be on track.

We already had a financial planner with whom we had worked for the previous 20 years (not a fiduciary) who we felt had done a decent job helping us up to that point and we did not see a reason to change. When an opportunity for a free dinner from Layman Lewis came in the mail, we thought, "Sure. Free meal. But we're not buying anything."

I don't remember a lot about the meal, but the presentations by Chuck, Alicia, and Josh kept my attention, were accessible, and made sense. The thing that hooked me was when towards the end Chuck said that, "The people who you have worked with to get you to the point of retirement might not be the right people to get you through retirement. At the point of retirement, goals, objectives, strategies all change."

Plus, Layman Lewis Financial Group is a fiduciary which makes us much more comfortable knowing that they are working for our benefit and not for the benefit of some large financial institution, pushing the investments products offered by that institution.

My wife and I have been very happy with Layman Lewis Financial Group. We've recommend them to a number of friends, many of whom have placed their confidence in Layman Lewis as well.

Even as we look to move out of Colorado, I think we will not be moving away from this welcoming, friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable group.
