Before you do business with them, especially on the home equity line of credit side, be aware that they are a small regional bank with a very rudimentary website, and that problem alone has made me regret doing business with them over the years. I’ve been processing my HELOC loan there for several years and there always seems to be a problem with understanding how their clunky rudimentary website works, including generating auto payments, connecting the account to external bank accounts for easy transfers and payments, etc.

As an example, I paid down my HELOC by $150,000 in one large payment, but the bank still generated a statement for the previous high balance, and Customer Service simply told me I need to make a second heloc payment for that month to cover the monthly payment due, as if the $150,000 payment from weeks earlier never happened.

And no one ever says sorry, our fault. A bank manager named Medina actually told me that it was my “responsibility to check my statements” to proactively catch any mistakes that the bank website might be making in this case, can you believe it! It’s nice that they’re willing to call you but it’s actually very hard to get anyone there to give you reasonable customer service. They also have the B team working for them at the call center. Basic questions have to be expedited to a bank manager.

I would shop around for a different Credit Union that has been around longer and can offer better website functionality and informed customer service then these nice people. They are friendly, but it’s definitely the B team working for you, not the A team.
