We started using her 10 years ago over last 3 years price more than doubled for a simple return no matter how early you bring in they are not filed until last minute. We asked for a printed copy of our taxes this year and we’re told we would be charged an additional 25 dollars this will be our last year dealing with her! There office ours are limited also . Not convenient. Only open 4 days a week and after today closed for next 6 days unbelievable.

I have been a client of Hooks and Associates for some time. Last year the data input was running behind on a monthly basis. When it got into tax season it was as far behind as 3 months. Unable to manage or lead my company becuase of lack of financial data, I said something to Chasity several times and was told basically if was not their fault. They never filed our returns for 2017 leaving us in major bind. I found a document from their logmein account that stated over 4,000 transactions were not uploaded.

Everything was fine first three years. Fourth year I was overcharged by triple the amount. New office manager refused to give a detailed account of billing. Never received any contact from preparer. Took same taxes to another company and was told that amount should be a third of what was charged. Never going back!

Extremely Poor service, I hired this firm to do my 2021 tax preparation for my company. They were also hired to do my personal taxes as well. They never prepared my tax returns. They were paid every month which I have receipts of. This should have been done in a timely fashion. 2022 rolled around and I kept asking them when they will have my 2021 taxes prepared. The Company kept dodging my question. On May 31, 2022, I fired them because they did not prepare my taxes and I could not get any answers about when tax preparation will be complete. The only answer I got was from the Accountant Jennifer that was assigned to my company, that it was sent to the owner for review. I have a very small one-man operation company. Very simple to do. I had to hire a new CPA and pay the new firm to prepare my 2021 tax returns. This cost me a lot of money to pay for a new firm. I had already paid Hooks CPA to do it. I have also had to pay penalties for late filings on both state and federal taxes. This firm was paid in full to do a job and that was to prepare my taxes. Which was never done. I am extremely disappointed. It has caused me money which I don't have, due to high unprofessionalism. They have had lots of turnover with employees due to the poor quality of management. Prior employees told me this. Be very Careful. I am in the process of consulting with an attorney and filing an complaint with the state board.

Update 2020 taxes accordingly to the irs we’re never filed by this company which I paid for . How can this firm be still be running with their negligence . Hooks Cpa stated to me even though she is the tax preparer does not want to deal with the matter of her negligence behind the 2020 tax year . She saying the irs is wrong she filed and sent the return .

Worst tax experience ever! Very uninformative and unprofessional. I didnt receive an email of acceptance until two weeks after filing. No one notified me of my taxes being rejected 3 times...and then they took it upon themselves to mail my return without my consent, adding an additional 6 to 8 weeks to the process. When I called to question the rejections, Mona the administrator seemed to have an unpleasant attitude as if I was bothering her. I was told I was rejected due to my son's social security number which was odd because I never had any issues with the years prior. This immediately made me go back to read the fine print of the paperwork in detail. I then noticed a flaw in my son's name, which they swore wasn't the issue. Also, they checked the wrong account type of my direct deposit and made up my occupation as "oilfield" when I clearly made them aware of me being a contractor for the U.S Army in Afghanistan. Now I know the latter won't effect my refund, but you have to admit still pretty unprofessional in my opinion. What happened to confirmation before submission? Giving them one star is being too generous.
