Seems to progressively be more and more of a pain to make a loan payment. Both times I attempted to make a payment with the ATM there was issues with the ATM not accurately processing the amount I deposited. So now I refuse to use the ATM because of that issue and only make cash deposits with the tellers, but not only are the wait times 30+ minutes now but when the last time I made a payment then teller says that I won't be able to make a deposit since my ID was due to expire, makes no sense since I can make a payment over the phone without anyone seeing my ID, also when I spoke with customer service , they agreed and said I should not having any issues making a payment. This same teller basically refused to assist my in stopping a auto pay. Luckily the agent at the call center was able to help since the one in the branch didn't want to take the time to do it. I wish the tellers in the branch were as helpful as the ones in the call center

I have been a customer for over 12 years. In the past, customer service was excellent, with a personal touch. However, it now feels like we are just another number. I’ve experienced multiple instances of poor communication and frustrating interactions, both in person and over the phone with customer service. I shared my concerns with the local manager and was assured that someone higher up would follow up to address the issue. Unfortunately, I never received any response. This lack of follow-through makes it clear that our business is no longer valued. As a result, we are exploring new options for our financial needs.

This branch has gone down hill about 3 years now. We had an account with golden one for over 5 years. One day we needed to exchange a bill that had a little tear on the corner. Golden one refused to deposit it or even exchange it. I even ask to talk to branch manager and still refused. For this reason we closed our account. We then went to different bank and had no issues. Since then we decided to give golden one another chance. My husband opened an account with the current branch manager on tuesday. He mentioned that he wanted to include the wife's name and due to schedule difference it would be difficult. Branch manager states that it would be OK if wife comes in with photo ID and can go ahead and add her on. Today I went in with photo ID and only wanted to deposit checks. Teller tells me there are no notes and is not able to add me on unless husband is present. This is super frustrating! Branch manager is off today but teller proceeds to ask the manager and still refused. So today we are happy to say my husband is closing his account and further saving us any issues it may arise from having an account with golden one. I will never open an account with again or recommend anyone to.

I used to appreciate banking at Golden 5, but my recent experience was completely unacceptable. In the past, tellers at this bank and others have allowed me to change the last name on a check from my grandma, even when it reflects my old last name. However, after waiting 20 minutes in line, the teller today refused to assist me, accusing me of committing fraud. When I requested my items back, she carelessly tossed them to me. This treatment is not only unprofessional but also bewildering, as I have never encountered any issues before. Due to this distasteful experience, I will be closing my account and taking my business elsewhere.

I am very shocked, I have been with this bank for over 30 years, I wrote a friend a check for $5,000 of which "is" in my account. When she went in to cash it they said they don't have it available, they said she would have to wait up to 3 days or something like that for the funds to be ready for her.
So I called them (I am home sick) and said so that means if I come in and want to withdraw my money I can't because you don't have the funds? She said yes ... I find it very hard to believe they don't have it and if they don't you better find out where "your" money is because they certainly have mine somewhere?

I've been with Golden One Credit Union for 17 years now and it's always been a very good experience. For the first 10 years the bank tellers were mostly the same people and they knew me which was nice. I didn't always have to show ID and it felt very comfortable there. For about the last 7 years the tellers are always different, no one recognizes you, the employees seem stressed and unpleasant to be around. Today was kind of the final straw for me. I have a business account at another bank and I write business checks to myself to pay myself through my person Golden One account. It's never been an issue and my checks always go right through. Anyway they recently started holding back large portions of my checks so I went in to ask why this was happening. I was told that the woman that stopped the holds on my checks was fired and she "is no long with us for a reason" which felt like a huge confidentiality breach for her. Also, the way the man said it was almost like he enjoyed telling me this information. Then he told me that I don't make enough money to stop the holds on my accounts even though I've been there 17 years and have never bounced a check or had an overdraft of any kind. What in the world happened to this place? I went on to tell him I'm going to have to come back and close my account on Monday and get a different bank and he immediately told me that would be just fine. At no point was a rude or mean to this guy. He was condescending, and just yuck ? Now have to figure out which banks are better.

Redding bank office is okay, although the tellers are getting worse. When you call about your credit card it always says "all circuits are busy now." If you dial the same exact numbers except for the last one the call goes through to another company. This has been going on for several days.
