I have had a long, pleasant professional relationship with CPA Sabrina Foley. She is very familiar with my annual tax filing situation. Since I am an attorney, I used to file my own taxes. However, I am retired and need my time for other things. I am able to rely on Sabrina to apply the tax code and regulations to my financial factual situation. If I have any questions she responds promptly and fully. Even during the busy tax season, she quickly starts, and quickly finishes my joint tax filing. The fact that she and Block Advisors stand behind her professional work gives me peace of mind.

The unprofessionalism is unbelievable. First I make an online video appointment but at the end it gives me an address to go to. I try to redo it and get a call that I made 2 appointments, so we finally get that straightened out. Then they call to confirm the appointment and I said yes. Then for my 2:30 Video appointment my advisor no shows the appointment, I let the video run for 15 minutes then disconnect. He calls me at 2:50 to let me know he is running late because he had another appointment that went long. He asked me to reschedule and I said I'm going to find another company to work with and honestly he sounded like he was kind of relieved. I'm really regretting uploading my documents in advance as I have no faith with what they did with them.

Had a good experience in 2022, but 2023 has been less positive. The tax professional I worked with in 2022 left the company, and I was assigned someone new. There was a month-long delay in the preparation of my taxes (the new HR Block tax professional said my account never came up in her queue). The professional was unresponsive to my messages, and when I called the main HR Block number to try to learn the status of my return, no one could help me beyond telling me to "keep trying to contact my tax professional."

She finally started to reply to my messages and my taxes did get completed in the end. But I'm not sure which experience was most representative of HR Block. Did I get lucky in 2022? Unlucky in 2023? I suppose I'll have to try working with them again to find out, and I'm not sure I want to do that.

My current advisor, Jason Weingust, has been doing an outstanding job on my taxes for several years now. A couple years prior to that my advisor Carol Combs ALSO did a terrific job. While I understand Jason is relocating soon, I am confident that whoever Block assigns to me will continue in that tradition.
