This was one of the worst experiences in banking i ever had. I went there after shopping for a new car , my first car shop, spoke with the dealership amazing all the issues began after .....asked for a car loan and went to this Place because I have been a member for more than 5 years. Asked for a car loan and got pre-approved for the amount i asked , so far so good.

Went back to the dealership and told them about the pre approved i signed the papers they even got me a discount on the car for being my first one amazing they gave me the keys took the pictures they did everything the bank asked us to do Right?

Went back to the bank to sign the papers for the loan and OHHH SURPRISE they told me after i signed the papers , left the dealer with yhe car and everything that they only finance according to their Bluebook whivh was lower on the price for the car and they told me right on the spot that i needed to do a downpayment first this was the first warning ⚠️, thank god i had some savings and i felt very bad cause that money was for other personal,

Did the down payment right? No other choice.

But being my first time ever buying a car the person not even told me at the moment, i had to try so many attempts to contact this person thru emails, calls and voice message, finally found out that i had to buy FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE which was another money i had to pay too .

I don't know but i think this is illegal cause i felt that everything went misleading and like a trap to just have me sign the papers.

Overall i wont ever never again do business with North Island.

This outrageous, disappointed, betrayed.

Thank god it was only a car and Not a house mortgage, i would have killed myself or gotten stress anxiety.

No one contacted me for my email review and i guess they dont care about people like they said to me at that moment.

Love being a member of this credit union. The staff is amazing - always friendly and helpful. Switched from a big bank almost 10 years ago to get away from the excessive fees. I've had nothing but stellar service here at North Island, even after they merged with CCU. Keep up the great work Susan, Jen and staff. You rock!

I have always had great customer service from this bank. After using a ‘big bank’ for years prior to my account I have noticed a change in care and consideration for the customers. Their surcharge free ATMs are a life saver, and I have never had my charges and deposits shuffled around to force an overdraft. In fact, I have gone over by a dollar or two in the past and NOT been charged an overdraft at all, where at other banks I would get a huge fee.

No bank or business is perfect, but a credit union is a much more customer oriented business than most ‘big banks’ that exist today.

After banking with "big" banks and being consistently disappointed with the impersonal service, long waits, and high fees, wife and I agreed to try a credit union for our personal and business banking. Have been with North Island now for over 10 years and their counter service is still polite, fast, and accurate and I intend to keep my day to day accounts with them for the excellent service.

Horrible customer service. My card was stuck in their ATM and I needed an emergency withdrawal. A heavy set woman Susan ,who seemed to be a manager was rude and kept saying that my account would go to collections as loud as she could in front of others. At the end I never got my emergency funds and never even got my card back!! WORST BANK EVER!!

Update: They also ruined my credit. Stay away from these pirates!

I will never deal with a bank that treat loyal costumers like this, I was looking for a loan but would never go with this people after that, sorry to hear there wasn’t even a follow up neither a call back, neither a reimbursement for something they did not explain to you, that’s sound shady and low for a credit union

DO NOT BANK WITH NORTH ISLAND.

My husband and I opened a joint account in June. Everything seemed great- until our rent payment didn't go through. We had over 2,000 in our account- plenty to pay rent. Upon investigation, NORTH ISLAND WITHHELD OUR OWN FUNDS FROM US WITHOUT TELLING US. We were told it was standard for new accounts. IF THEY HAD BEEN UP FRONT WITH THAT FACT IN THE BEGINNING, WE NEVER WOULD HAVE BANKED WITH THEM. my husband and I are just two humans trying to survive, AND BECAUSE OF NORTH ISLAND, WE ACCRUED AN EXTRA $125 IN FEES AND DAMAGED OUR CREDIT, ALL BECAUSE OF SHIFTY BUSINESS. So sick of corporations taking advantage of the lower class. DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK.
